MemoCards, SmartApp Development’s debut, is a mobile app designed for foreign language learners.
According to our research, every learner’s principal pain is firstly ranking vocabulary words by frequency of use and singling the necessary words out of the endless vocabulary list and secondly finding an efficient way to learn vocabulary units.
MemoCards provides a complex turnkey solution to this problem:
● 5000 Flashcards, each containing one of the most utilized words of the given language, ranked by frequency of use, an audio bite and a fun picture
● Unique review methodology, based on the Spaced Repetition Learning principle; a calendar and a notification system that organize a user’s study process depending on his/her memorization abilities
● Adaptivity. MemoCards test determines user’s vocabulary level, enabling our program to filter out the flashcard words of which a user possesses prior knowledge.
In spite of App’s rich functionality our strategy is not to substitute a teacher, but to facilitate learning. And our vocabulary database enables users to learn one of the 6 Languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Russian and Italian, which covers over 100 Mil potential users around the world.
MemoCards was successfully launched on App Store in April, 2012 as an iPhone application. In the near future we intend porting MemoCards to iPad and Android devices, adding Asian languages and adopting the app for several most popular textbooks.
MemoCards is owned by SmartApp Development Ltd, registered in Hong Kong. The team core of MemoCards is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. There were several reasons to choose such jurisdiction: taxation, acceptance by Apple and Google, common law flexibility and English as a state language.
In November 2011 Mike Tomshinsky, CEO of SmartApp, selected Startupr as a Registered Agent to incorporate the company and support in associated procedures such as bank account opening, audit reporting and future registrations of shareholders’ changes. Since then Sturtupr proved himself as very flexible, responsive and responsible partner.
